“The Ministry of Health has received documents for the registration of another vaccine from the Chumakov Center. This is the third development of our scientists, and in the next month it will also be released into civilian circulation, "he said on the air of the Russia 24.
Mishustin recalled that at the moment vaccination of the population is mainly carried out with the drug "Sputnik V" from the scientific center of Gamaleya, and next month in Russia a large-scale production of the vaccine "EpiVacCorona" from the center "Vector" will begin. The government allocated over 2 billion rubles for the production of the last vaccine.
“Vaccination is an important step in the fight against a dangerous disease, but it has just begun, and it will take time for herd immunity to develop. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to observe precautions, ”the Prime Minister stressed.
Two vaccines against coronavirus are officially registered in Russia. The first was the Sputnik V vaccine, developed at the Gamaleya Research Center in Moscow. According to the developers, the effectiveness of the drug is 91.4%, of the severe course of the coronavirus - 100%. The second vaccine, EpiVacCorona, was registered in October. Both drugs are undergoing post-marketing trials. The third Russian coronavirus vaccine, developed in the Chumakov center, is scheduled to be registered on February 16.
